The Kroger Co, Atlanta Division, announced that associates working at Kroger stores in the Atlanta metro and surrounding area have ratified new labor agreements with UFCW Local 1996. “These are among the most significant agreements that have been negotiated here and across the country. The new agreements provide significant pay raises through new pay scales and hourly increases. In addition to more money for associates over the term, it continues to provide good, affordable health care and secure pension benefits.” said Steve Lomax, President of UFCW 1996. “We are pleased to reach agreements that make significant financial investments in our associates and enables them to continue to serve our customers with excellence,” said Bruce Lucia, President of Kroger’s Atlanta Division. Both Lomax and Lucia commended the work of the bargaining committees for the Union and the company. The contracts cover over 28,000 Kroger associates working in 164 stores in the Atlanta area and 11 stores in Savannah.
