KNOW YOUR CLASSIFICATION/JOB DESCRIPTION

COURTESY CLERKS - If you are a Courtesy Clerk, you should not be performing duties in other departments.  If you are asked to work in another department (defined as anything other than cleaning), the Employer shall pay you for work performed at Junior Apprentice/Helper Clerk rate of pay.  Agreements can vary in different areas, so check your Union contract for specifics.

JUNIOR APPRENTICE/HELPER CLERKS - If you are working as Junior Apprentice/Helper Clerk, your duties may include training in all phases of store operations except Meat Department and Checking.

COMBINATON CLERKS - If you are a Combination Clerk and have performed duties in more than one department, you should contact (E.S.C.) Safeway Employee Service Center at 888-255-2269 and make sure that all your hours accrued are combined.
