Our Elected officials and laws should focus on the needs of working families. You can help make that happen. The Active Ballot Club is the engine that supports the issues that matter the most to UFCW members.

¨ That Support issues that affect our members.
¨ From advocating for higher wages to passing paid sick leave legislation—every dollar helps to ensure hardworking families see laws passed that will help them enjoy more economic stability.
¨ That supports working families and the right to Organize and form a Union in the workplace.¨ Like keeping “Right to Work” legislation out of the state of Alaska that is aimed to destroy Labor Unions. Workers receive no extra work or rights.
¨ Candidates that support raising minimum wage to a living wage.
¨ Candidates asking for contribution get approved by UFCW members through Executive Board process.
¨ $1.00 a week per member=$52.00 per year X 2500 members=$130,000 a year. “That would make UFCW Local 1496 a serious player in Alaska politics.”
¨ Your contribution will automatically be deducted each week and you can stop contributing at any time.
